(dpa) - At least 12 people were killed Tuesday in an explosion outside the Federal Investigation Agency offices in Lahore, a Pakistani official said.

The explosion, reportedly outside the offices, damaged part of the eight-story building where 200 to 300 people work, Malik Iqbal of the Lahore City Police said in a telephone interview.

"At least 50 people are wounded, and that toll is feared to rise," he said. "There are still some bodies and wounded inside the building."

He said authorities did not yet know if the blast was a suicide bombing.

A second explosion was reported near a separate police office in Lahore. Casualties were also feared there, local media reported.
