The Georgian Government says that it does not expect any troubles with gas supply, despite of technical difficulties occurred in Azerbaijan offshore gas condensate field, Shahdaniz, Trend Correspondent to Tbilisi reports. During the briefing that was held after the completion of the today meeting of the Georgian Government, Georgian Prime-Minister, Zurab Nogaideli, said that all the troubles will be eliminated within a week. He said that Georgia continues receiving gas from Azerbaijan.
SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) is supplying Georgia with its own gas at the price of $120 per 1.000 cubic meters.
Nikalos Gilauri, Georgia Energy Minister, said that the country receiving Azerbaijan gas from the following two sources: the first source is Shahdaniz Field, the second one вЂ" SOCAR own gas. The gas import launched in January 12, 2007. The limit of Azerbaijan gas Georgia is to receive in January, 2007 - 31 mln. cubic meters вЂ" has not been completely received by the country. As to the solution of the technical difficulties recently occurred on Shahdaniz, Mr. Gilauri said that the company-operator, BP had not announced any concrete date when al the troubles would be eliminated.
