Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.19 / Trend corr R. Ergun / Azerbaijani chess player Shahriyar Mammadyarov won the first play in Aeroflot Open tournament held in Moscow, a source in the Chess Federation of Azerbaijan told Trend on Feb.19.
Mammadyarov defeated Russian Nikolay Chadayev in the second round of the competition. The Azerbaijani player ranks forth with 1.5 points.
Mammadyarov will face another Russian player Pavel Smirnov in the third round.
Aeroflot Open tournament, with prize fund of 180,000 euro, will end on Feb.26.
