Azerbaijani sportsmen won 675 medals in 2010, Azad Rahimov, Youth and Sports Minister, said.
"Azerbaijani sportsmen won 675 medals in 2010 in Azerbaijani and foreign competitions," he said.
He said that about 50 international sports competitions were held in Azerbaijan.
Rahimov said that next year will be more responsible for our athletes.
"Next year will be the year of licenses. Our athletes must try much to win a permit for the London 2012 Olympics," minister said.
He said that Olympic complexes will be built in Jalilabad, Tovuz, Imishli, Gabala and Sumgait next year.
At present, roughly 28 national Olympic complexes operate in Azerbaijan.
