Mining products worth $1.8 billion mining products were exported from Razavi Khorasan province (northeastern Iran) in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), said Javad Khazaei deputy chairman of the Razavi Khorsan province Industry, Mine and Trade Organization, Trend reports citing ILNA.
According to Khazaei, Razavi Khorasan province accounts for about 5 percent of Iran's total mining products export.
Khazaei added that the Bardaskan county of the province has more than 11 million tons of mining reserves, and 6,000 tons of copper concentrate is produced annually in this county.
The official said that it is planned to increase copper concentrate production in the county to 11,000 tons.
“Last year, the licensed were issued to establishment of 3,400 mining enterprises with investment of 300 trillion rials (about $7 billion). Thus, 19 percent of enterprises were commissioned with an investment of 72 trillion rials (about $1.7 billion) last year, he said.
Khazaei said that most of the investments were issued to the establishment of mining enterprises in the Khaf county.
The official said that currently, there are 40 enterprises under construction in the mining and non-mining sectors in the province. These facilities will be commissioned by the end of current Iranian year (began March 20, 2021) and the first half of next Iranian year (starting March 21, 2021).
“With the commissioning of these enterprises, 8,800 people will be provided with jobs and 240 trillion rials (about $5.71 billion) will be invested in this area,” he said.
