The exports of cooperative companies in Iran's Gilan Province increased by 46 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of the Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Office of Gilan Province Abbas Alizadeh told reporters, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Alizadeh emphasized that 20 cooperative companies in Gilan Province exported goods mainly to Asian and European countries.
The director general added that there are currently 258 cooperative companies in Gilan Province. These companies employ 199,000 people.
"In total, 17 cooperative facilities will be put into operation in Iran during the cooperation week in Iran (September 4 through September10, 2021). These facilities will operate in many areas, including mineral water, chicken, housing. A total of 1.58 trillion rials (about $37.6 million) has been spent on these facilities. And as a result, 332 people will be employed," he said.
Furthermore, during the coronavirus pandemic in Iran, 3.56 trillion rials (about $84.7 million) in loans were provided to pandemic-affected businesses in the province, Alizadeh noted.
