Number of Banks Using Centralized Credit Registration Increases

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / The National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) announced an increase in bank activity regarding the use of Centralized Credit Registration (CCR). The International Bank of Azerbaijan, Bank Respublika, and Kapital Bank demonstrate the most activity compared to twenty-five other participants, Emin Huseynov, the director of the Statistics and Research Department of the NBA, said.

The NBA made 980 information queries to the CCR in the first quarter, 1,066 in the second quarter, and 521 in July. The number of queries from the Bank Respublika made up 565, 976, and 275 in the first and second quarters and July, and at Kapital Bank the figures were 63, 424 and 115.

The number of inquiries in credit registration made up 2,585, some 2,388 of which are information on natural persons within the first quarter, 4,516 in the second quarter, and 1,211 in July.

Queries by Texnika Bank, Azerdemiryolbank, Bank Standard, Yapi Credi Bank, Xalg Bank, AzerigazBank, and UniBank were mostly regarding mortgage crediting, Huseynov considers.

The CCR has been operating since March 2005. Some 319 pieces of information have been requested from the credit registration in the first year. In 2006 the total number of inquiries to the credit registration made up 5,302.

Each year about three or four banks require information from the CCR.

An inquiry by one natural person costs AZN 1.1 and for juridical persons the cost is AZN 2.
