Turkey, N.Cyprus to lay submarine power cable

Turkey and Northern Cyprus signed an agreement to lay a submarine power cable, Sabah newspaper reported Oct. 11.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Berat Albayrak and Minister of Economy and Energy of Northern Cyprus Sunat Atun.
Albayrak said that the new contract is important for the region.
No other details of the agreement are disclosed.
Previously, Turkey built a submarine pipeline with a length of 107 kilometers to annually supply Northern Cyprus with drinking water in the amount of 75 million cubic meters.
