The State Statistics Committee has approved the preliminary data on foreign investments to Azerbaijan economy over the third quarter of 2006, a source in the Committee told Trend.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the total volume of foreign investments to the economy has reached $3531,2 mln. 80,2% ($2832 mln.) out of the total volume fell at direct investments, and 17,7% ($625,6 mln) on financial credits and loans to the economy of the Country.
In comparison with the corresponding period of 2005, the investments to the oil and gas sector decreased by 10.6%.
In the reporting period, the joint stocks companies and companies with foreign investments invested $336,6 mln to the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan economy. 53,4% ($179,7 mln) out of them went into the industrial section, 14% ($47,1 mln.) into the construction sector, 16,1% ($54,2 mln) into the trade and services sector, and 5,2% ($17,5 mln) went into the transport and telecommunication sector.
