Activities in Iran’s Imam Khomeini port decrease

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) decreased by about 13 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (June 23 through August 22, 2021), compared to the 4th month (June 22 through July 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, a total of 3.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port in the fifth month (about 1.82 million tons loaded, 1.88 million tons unloaded).

“Also, 1.68 million tons of cargo were exported and 1.72 million tons were imported through the Imam Khomeini port over the reporting month. Meanwhile, 77,600 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for transit,” the statistics said.

Within the fifth month, 59,900 tons of cargo were loaded and 155,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage.

According to the statistics, 4,480 tons of cargo were loaded and 5,290 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment. As well as, 300 tons of cargo were loaded, and 5,520 tons were unloaded for other purposes.

So, 1.45 million tons of essential products, 108,000 tons of metal products, 392,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 1,460 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 255,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port in the 5th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 41,800 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 120,000 tons of container products, 1.34 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 11.3 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the fifth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.98 million tons were loaded and 5.29 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9.8 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
