Kazakhstan’s National Fund will transfer over 1.092 trillion tenges (over $3.4 billion) to the state budget for the recovery of the country’s banking sector.
A corresponding decree was signed by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. The text of the decree was published on the website of Kazakhstan’s Legal information system of Regulatory Legal Acts.
Thirty-four banks were operating in Kazakhstan as of Jan. 1, 2017. The international rating agencies say that short-term outlook of Kazakh banking sector is negative.
