Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said the Munich visit failed not because of problems with obtaining visa, but due to the busy schedule and celebrations of the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in the county, the Fars news agency reported.
"In a conversation with my German counterpart, I explained to him the reason for my absence at the conference, but later I plan to take part in such events," Salehi said.
Salehi once again stressed that he had not any problems with entry to the European Union.
Late last week, the German Ambassador to Iran presented an invitation addressed to Salehi to attend the Munich Conference on Security.
