The People's Party f Armenia will participate in the elections of the Yerevan Mayor. Leader of the Party Tigran Karapetyan is assured they will win in the elections, Public Radio of Armenia reported.
Mr. Karapetyan told a press conference today that on March 1 the People's Party intends to hold a candle-lighting ceremony in Yerevan aimed at spreading cohesion among the society.
Speaking about the domestic political situation, Tigran Karapetyan said it's necessary to launch dialogue with the opposition. "The dialogue should take place in political processes, in which the opposition should participate," he noted.
Turning to the rumors about Armenia's joining the ruble zone, Tigran Karapetyan said it would be an incorrect step: "Any state should have its own currency." "However, we support any other collective activity. I think that the provision of a $500 million stabilization loan to Armenia by Russia is a result of collective activity," he said.
