Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 7

The managing director of Iran's famous Persepolis soccer club, Hamid Reza Siyasi was arrested in Tehran, the Islamic Republic's Mehr news agency reported Dec. 7.
Siyasi was summoned to a court reviewing sports crimes in Tehran.
The judiciary has not unveiled any details about the reasons for arresting of the head of the club.
Siyasi said that his arrest is related to "some problems which occurred during the activity of former administrations of the club."
However, Mohammad Reza Rouyanian, who was the chairman of the Club from September 2011 until his resignation in January 2014 dismissed Siyasi's statements.
Rouyanian himself was under arrest last May due to his involvement in a corruption case in the transportation and fuel management committee.
Rouyanian was the head of the committee for transportation and fuel management from 2007 to 2011, during the administration of ex-president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
