BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 31. Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who is visiting Qatar, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Trend reports.
During the meeting, the parties addressed various matters of mutual interest, including the enhancement of bilateral relations and regional developments. Particular focus was directed towards the circumstances in Palestine following the ceasefire agreement, the political dynamics in Lebanon post the presidential and prime ministerial elections, recurrent breaches of the ceasefire, and the developments in Syria. Both parties reiterated their endorsement of Syria's sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity.
The Iranian Foreign Minister, highlighting the strong and positive relations between Iran and Qatar, reaffirmed the commitment of the Islamic Republic to further strengthen cooperation in various fields. Araghchi also praised Qatar's constructive role in facilitating the ceasefire in Gaza. He stressed the need to be vigilant in ensuring the implementation of the agreement.
The Qatari Prime Minister, for his part, reaffirmed Doha’s commitment to enhancing ties with Iran and lauded Tehran’s significant role in the region and its contributions to promoting peace and stability. Both sides agreed to maintain close consultations and coordination between Tehran and Doha on regional developments.
