BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 31. Azerbaijan receives valuable technical support from UN structures in various spheres, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Yalcin Rafiyev said, Trend reports.
He made the remark at a panel session titled “High-level strategic prioritization” within the framework of the Framework Document on Cooperation between the UN and Azerbaijan on Sustainable Development (for 2026-2030).
“Our country receives valuable technical support and expert advice from UN structures in various fields to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals envisioned in the 2030 Agenda and actively participates in international initiatives, demonstrating its commitment to global cooperation,” he said.
Rafiyev noted that the country is following a roadmap aimed at building a competitive and inclusive economy, promoting sustainable development, enhancing social well-being, and ensuring long-term sustainability for a strong future.
“Despite the rapid progress in this direction, one of the major challenges remains the demining of territories that have been under occupation for many years. Azerbaijan is currently one of the countries suffering most from the consequences of mine clearance, and we emphasize the importance of special attention to this issue by taking the initiative of Sustainable Development Goal 18 to create a stable, safe, and prosperous future in the liberated territories,” he said.
