Sheikh of Azerbaijan and of all Caucasus Haji Allahshukur Pashazade said at the Eurasia Islamic Council's 7th meeting in Istanbul that nothing will separate Turkish and Azerbaijani people, Cihan news agency reported.
"Despite forces who seek to separate Azerbaijani and Turkish people, it is impossible," Haji Allahshukur Pashazade said.
Pashazade said the Eurasia Islamic Council is important for all Muslims to exchange views.
He said Azerbaijani and Turkish people have always stood by each-other and will do so in future.
"Forces who want to instigate trouble between the two nations spread rumors. We must not give an opportunity to these forces," he said.
He said the Mosque of Martyrs in Baku has been closed due to repairs.
"Azerbaijani and Turkish people maintain good religious ties. The Mosque of Martyrs in Baku has been closed due to repairs. The forces willing to undermine relations between the two countries exaggerate and politicize this issue," he said.
Ankara unequivocally has rejected reports about opening of the Turkey-Armenia border.
"Unfortunately, we saw those who wanted to undermine Turkey-Azerbaijan fraternal relations. Armenian media reported that Turkey will establish ties with out any precondition. This is slander and a lie. Whom to believe, Armenian media or prime minister of a country? I have stated on numerous occasions that Turkey will never compromise in the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh," Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during a visit to Baku on May 13.
