The regulatory capital of the banks of Uzbekistan amounted to 78.1 trillion soums ($7.2 billion) as of August 1, 2022, which is an increase of 22.9 percent compared to the same period last year (63.5 trillion soums or $5.8 billion), Trend reports referring to the Uzbek Central Bank.
During this period, the capital of the first tier accounted for 65.6 trillion soums ($6 billion), which is an increase of 20.5 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (54.5 trillion soums, or $4.9 billion).
The capital of the second tier as of August 1, 2022, increased by 37.6 percent and reached 12.5 trillion soums ($1.1 billion). As of August 1, 2021, his indicator amounted to 9 trillion soums ($899.3 million).
At the same time, the capital of the first tier accounted for 84 percent of the total regulatory capital, and the second tier accounted for 16 percent.
