By Maryana Akhmedova – Trend:
The UAE based company Masdar, also known as Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, is developing projects in Karabakh, a company representative told Trend.
"We are working on the construction of a 100-megawatt wind farm in the Kalbajar and Lachin and a 150-megawatt solar battery project in smart cities and villages in the liberated territories," a company representative said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, Azerenergy OJSC and Masdar signed documents on the construction project of a solar power plant with an installed capacity of 230 megawatts.
A company representative said that by the end of March 2022, the construction of a 230-megawatt solar power plant will begin, and it will be fully put into operation in 18 months.
Masdar has a desire to expand its presence in the Azerbaijani energy market, the source noted.
"Azerbaijan has great potential in the green energy sector, and if the government gives us the opportunity to develop more projects, we will be very happy," Masdar said.
