The total assets of Azerbaijani banks increased from January through November 2021, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, this indicator amounted to 35.6 billion manat ($20.9 billion), up by 11.1 percent on annual basis.
Besides, the total liabilities and balance capital of the local banks also grew – by 12 percent and 5.8 percent, settling at 30.6 billion manat ($18 billion) and 4.9 billion manat ($2.8 billion), respectively.
In November this year, the loan portfolio of Azerbaijani banks amounted to 16.2 billion manat ($9.5 billion), which is 284.7 million manat or $167.4 million (1.8 percent) more than in October. Totally, since the beginning of the year, the loan portfolio of the banks, 46 percent of which accounted for their assets, rose by 15 percent.
The share of overdue loans decreased by 1.4 percent since the beginning of the year - to 4.7 percent, by 1.6 percent – on annual basis and by 2.7 percent – compared to the average share for 2020.
In the structure of liabilities, through the specified period, the deposit portfolio prevailed (81 percent of the total liabilities). The banks' deposit portfolio grew by four percent in November (amounting to 717.5 million manat or $422 million), and since the beginning of the year, it has grown by 19.4 percent.
