The USA do not intend to have constant bases in Central Asia, U.S assistant secretary of defense, Alexander Vershbow, said, CA-NEWS reported with reference to Interfax.  

"We are pleased that we can continue flights with the help of which we support our troops and civilians in Afghanistan using transit center in Manas. I think that it is in our common interests," Vershbow said in interview with the agency on August 12.

"It is normal relations between Russia and Kyrgyzstan. We have no special position. We neither support nor oppose it," he said, answering the question on Russian intention to place military base in Kyrgyzstan.   

"We are not willing to have constant bases in Central Asia but Manas and other ways,including transit way through Russia is important contribution that Russian President Medvedev named our common case," Vershbow said.
