Jonathan Henick, the Head of the U.S. Embassy, Public Relations Department in Baku, informed Trend that Barry Lowenkron, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State, will visit Baku on 18-19 December 2006.
Mr. Henick said that the visit, which was originally scheduled for 27-28 November, was delayed due to a busy schedule.
Lowenkron is responsible for matters relating to democracy, human rights and labor. He plans to discuss these issues in Baku with the Azerbaijani government officials and will hold discussions with the government officials, representative of the political parties and non-governmental organizations involved in human rights.
