Baku has hosted the signing ceremony of a grant agreement between the EU and the World Bank (WB) for the Azerbaijani government this week, Trend reports.
The term of the agreement is three years and the cost accounts for $5.25 million. The document is aimed at providing technical support to the Azerbaijani government in accordance with its strategic priorities.
The agreement covers sectors such as climate change, the fight against the pandemic, environmental protection and some other areas.
The overall capital of Azerbaijani banks amounted to 18.5 billion manat ($10.88 billion) based on the results of 2021, up by over 20 percent compared to 2020.
The loan portfolio of Azerbaijani banks grew by 9 percent, up to 30 million manat ($17.6 million). Azerbaijan's banks invested 25 percent of their funds in various areas last year.
