TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 7. The deposits of Uzbekistan's commercial banks amounted to 283.1 trillion soums ($22.1 billion) as of September 1.
According to the data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the deposits of state-owned banks in Uzbekistan accounted for 142.3 trillion soums ($11.1 billion) during this period, and other banks' deposits reached 140.8 trillion soums ($11 billion).
Uzbekistan's National Bank led state-owned banks in deposit volume with 35.9 trillion soums ($2.8 billion). Xalq Bank ranked second with 21.7 trillion soums ($1.69 billion), followed by Aqrobank with 18.5 trillion soums ($1.44 billion).
Among private banks, Kapitalbank held the largest deposit volume at 34.2 trillion soums ($2.67 billion), followed by Ipoteka Bank (21.5 trillion soums, or $1.68 billion). Hamkor Bank rounded out the top three with 10.7 trillion soums ($836.3 million).
Meanwhile, Uzbek commercial banks' deposits reached 275.4 trillion soums ($21.7 billion) from January through July 2024.
The deposits of state-owned banks in Uzbekistan accounted for 137.7 trillion soums ($10.89 billion), while other banks' deposits totaled 137.6 trillion soums ($10.88 billion).
