Appointment of the new commander of Tehran special forces has nothing to do with the attack on Saudi embassy in Tehran, said Saeed Montazerolmahdi, a spokesman for the Police, IRNA reported.
Brigadier Hassan Arabsorkhi has been relieved of his duties two months ago and was appointed another post, Montazerolmahdi said, adding that over the past two months Col. Salmani was the caretaker of Tehran special forces.
He said that Colonel Motahharzadeh was appointed as the new commander of Tehran special forces a week before the attack on the Saudi embassy and therefore his appointment has nothing to do with the incident.
