Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 August / Trend corr. D.Khatinoglu / The statements made by the deputy chairman of the Afghanistan National Security Department in the Parliament regarding connection of some MPs with terror and drug trafficking facts showed the importance to hold certain reforms in the government. "Some MPs may have connection with drug trafficking. The Government should implement more serious reforms," Khalid Pashtoon, a member of the Security Council of Parliament, told Trend .

According to the information released by BBC, Abdulla Loghmani, the deputy chairman of the Afghanistan National Security Department, blamed some MPs to support terror and drug trafficking. Loghmani said that there were heavy evidences for these evidences.

Pashtoon believes that some strange persons managed to come to the office thanks to their political authority during establishing of the national government in 2002. These persons are commanders (Taliban soldiers) and persons engaged in drug trafficking," Pashtoon stated via a telephone from Kabul.

So far the media in Afghanistan has released the information about the corruption cases within the government repeatedly. MPs' connection with corruption is unlikely as they do not operate directly in the government and ministries. However, there are some MPs connected with corruption in the departments," Pashtoon stated.

Security Council called upon the officials from the National Security Department to submit reports to the Parliament about the implemented plans and projects, as well as to inform the government about terror and drug trafficking facts.

"In spite of the fact that both the local forces and NATO provide security in the country, the situation has not been changed. NATO should be more active to provide security in the country," Pashtoon said.

Pashtoon believes that serious reforms must be introduced in the government and parliament.
