Consumer goods worth 8.2 billion manat were sold to the Azerbaijani population from the retail trade facilities in Jan.-June 2012, or 9.2 percent more than the corresponding period of last year, the State Statistics Committee said on Thursday.
The volume of consumer products sold to legal entities amounted to 1.1 billion manat. Individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial activity without establishing a legal entity sold goods at 3.8 billion manat.
The goods worth 3.3 billion manat were sold by physical entities working in the markets and fairs. The volume of e-commerce amounted to 647,800 manat.
About 57.3 percent of the population's costs in the retail trade facilities were spent to purchase food, 42.7 percent - non-food items.
