Georgia’s leading company aims to re-export cars to African markets

Georgia’s leading car importer Caucasus Auto Import is set to enter the African market in the near future, Trend reports via Georgian media.

According to the director of the company, Giorgi Surguladze, speaking of the car market overall, said that despite the coronavirus pandemic, the market maintains positive dynamic.

"The situation is improving. In any case, our company’s performance indicators are quite high, the market share of "Caucasus Auto Import" ranges within 30-40 percent," he said.

"While imports see a 50-percent increase over the last year and half and compared to 2019 imports also increased mainly thanks to improved services, entry into foreign markets, we hold a solid share in the Ukraine as well as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Central Asia; now we are set to enter Africa," he said.

"We can't specify the details yet, but this is a near-future time perspective - we will be present in the African market by the end of the year, at most,” Surguladze said.

Caucasus Auto Import is the largest auto importer and undisputed leader in the Caucasus region. During its 17-year successful history, the company has imported and sold more than 200,000 vehicles, established a wide network of branches (42 branches) in Georgia and around the world. Caucasus Auto Import employs 253 people.
