The international exhibition and conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan" (OGT-2015) opened in Ashgabat Nov.17.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Oil and Gas and Mineral Resources and the Chamber of Commerce, with the participation of the UK Summit Trade Events Ltd.
During the event, representatives of global business circles will be informed of the current status and prospects for developing the oil and gas industry in the country, according to the organizers.
They will have the opportunity to determine the format of further cooperation and to examine investment opportunities in the Turkmen market, said the organizers.
The conference will be attended by heads of Turkmenistan's oil and gas complex; international oil, gas and service companies; equipment manufacturers; and financial institutions.
Turkmenistan ranks second for the volume of natural gas reserves among CIS countries, after Russia. Currently, the country supplies gas to Russia, Iran, and China.
In accordance with the program for developing Turkmenistan's oil and gas industry, the country plans to raise the annual natural gas and oil production to 250 billion cubic meters and 110 million tons, respectively, by 2030.
For this purpose, the country will continue the large-scale work on oil and gas exploration, production, transportation, oil refining, natural gas processing, providing the domestic market with oil products, and developing the export routes of natural gas and oil products.
