Azerbaijani, Swiss Central banks discuss promising areas of cooperation

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan and the Swiss National Bank discussed the possibilities of continuation of joint research in the future, as well as areas of cooperation, the CBA reported.

The report noted that these issues were discussed during the meeting of CBA Chairman Elman Rustamov with Chairman of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank Thomas Jordan, who arrived in Azerbaijan to attend Group election of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF), which was held in Baku on July 5-6.

The discussions held within the frame of the Election commission have an important significance, Jordan said. Furthermore, he noted the successful development of cooperation of Switzerland and other countries represented in this group with Azerbaijan.

In turn, the CBA chairman stressed that the Swiss National Bank is one of the main partners of Azerbaijan Central Bank in the issue of policy, as well as in the sphere of institutional reforms.

The report further noted that Jordan also highly appreciated the technical assistance provided by the CBA to the central banks of several countries.

Along with this, the head of the Swiss National Bank held a number of meetings in the CBA, and also visited the Centre for Research and Development of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
