German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources and the Kazakh Embassy to Germany organized the German-Kazakh conference titled 'Reassessment of Kazakhstan deposits', which took place in the German city of Hanover.

The conference was attended by the Kazakh delegation headed by the Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Sauranbayev and managing director - member of the Board of JSC Baiterek National Management Holding Kanysh Tuleushin. The delegation also included representatives of business community and experts of mining industry of Kazakhstan.

The event was attended by over 100 leading German companies which are interested in the investment and implementation of a number of promising projects in Kazakhstan.

The uniqueness of the forum lies in the fact that the foreign business community for the first time ever has presented the data on the Kazakh solid minerals deposits (copper, lead, zinc, tin, vanadium, tantalum, tungsten, molybdenum, titanium) prepared by the German experts in accordance with international standards thanks to the successful cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany as part of the Agreement on the intergovernmental partnership in raw materials, industrial and technological spheres.

The results of these studies will form the basis for the investment projects of German companies in the process of industrialization of Kazakhstan's economy. These companies plan to establish not only production but also processing of minerals in Kazakhstan.

In order to determine the next steps for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in base material, industrial and technological sectors between the two countries, the Kazakh delegation held bilateral meetings and talks with the president of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources, Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Kümpel, co-chairman of the German part of the German-Kazakh Strategic Cooperation Business Council - CEO for Central and Eastern Europe at the Deutsche Bank Peter Tils, and executive director of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations Dr. Rainer Lindner, as well as the heads of several German companies and organizations.

The conference once again proved the great interest of the German side in industrial projects of Kazakhstan on manufacturing products with high added value.
