Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Aghayeva / Voters registered by Kazakhstan Embassy in Azerbaijan are taking an active part in the elections to Kazakhstan Parliament which are held on 18 August, according to the Embassy.
The most part of electors voted by 12.00 p.m. in Baku time. Consular service of Kazakhstan Embassy in Azerbaijan registered 50 voters. The voting will be held by 7:00 p.m.
The parliamentary elections were set after the MPs of the previous parliament voluntarily abdicated their responsibilities in June, in order to enable all legislative amendments made earlier in the constitution to come to effect.
The new parliament will be able to give agreement for appointment of a Prime Minister, as well as of the majority of the Government. In accordance with the amendments 9 MPs will be elected by the Assembly of Kazakhstan Nations on 20 August.
The parliamentary elections involve the National Social Democratic Party, the 'Nur Otan' People's Democratic Party, the Patriots' Party of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan 'Auil' Social Democratic Party, the Kazakhstan Ak Zhol Democratic Party, the 'Rukhaniyat' party, and the People's Communist Party of Kazakhstan.
