Kazakhstan’s national company Kazatomprom delivered the first batch of uranium to Brazil, the company's press service said in a message.
"The National Atomic Company of Kazakhstan is expanding the geography of its products supply in the world nuclear fuel market. Kazatomprom JSC won an international tender for the supply of natural uranium concentrates for the Brazilian company Indústrias nucleares do Brazil (INB). Kazatomprom made the delivery of uranium on time, according to the terms of the contract," the report said.
INB is a Brazilian state enterprise, producing nuclear fuel. The activities of INB are licensed and controlled by the National Nuclear Energy Commission (NNEC) of Brazil and the Brazilian Institute for Environment and Renewable Natural Resource, as well as IAEA.
The signing of the contract is important for the development of the Kazakh-Brazilian cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy and the search for new markets for the products of Kazatomprom JSC.
