The visits to the Khorgos International Center of Boundary Cooperation (ICBC) grew 8 percent in 2018 as compared to 2017, Trend reports citing the Kazakh media.
This was facilitated by measures to create conditions for investors to conduct business and for tourist visits.
Thus, the ICBC baggage terminal has been reconstructed and expanded from 900 to 3,500 square meters. Also, its vehicle fleet was updated with 15 new cargo vehicles.
Currently, the issues of exemption of Kazakh and foreign members of the Khorgos ICBC from basic taxes, except the social ones, are being solved.
Assignment of the status of a special economic zone to Khorgos ICBC – a unique project of Kazakhstan and China for trade, economic, tourism and investment cooperation – creates favorable conditions for development of business and attracting investments.
Twelve investment companies were attracted to the Khorgos ICBC last year, with a total area of 32.7 hectares. Over the years of the Khorgos ICBC activity, 21 contracts have been concluded.
