Romania - largest exporter of gasoline, diesel fuel to Georgia

The import of gasoline and diesel fuel in Georgia amounted to 428,500 tons from January through May 2021, Trend reports via the Union of Oil Products Importers.

As reported, this is 29,600 tons or 7.4 percent more than the same period last year (398,900 tons) and by 24.3 tons (or by 6 percent) more than compared to the same period in 2019 (404,200 tons).

In the first 5 months of 2021, imports of gasoline fuel amounted to 217,600 tons, and imports of diesel fuel amounted to 210,900 tons.

According to the categories, from January through May 2021, gasoline fuel imports amounted to the following: RON-91 gasoline - 142,300 tons (65.4 percent); RON-95 premium type gasoline - 70,800 tons (32.5 percent); RON-98 super type gasoline - 4,400 tons (2 percent);

From January through May of this year, the largest volume of gasoline and diesel fuel imports came from Romania - 99,000 tons, which is 23.1 percent of total imports.

The rest is as follows:

Turkmenistan - 95,200 tons - 22.2 percent;

Russia - 93,900 tons - 21.9 percent;

Azerbaijan - 72,000 tons - 16.8 percent;

Bulgaria - 44,600 tons - 10.4 percent;

Greece - 11,100 tons - 2.6;

Turkey - 8,100 tons - 1.9 percent;

Kazakhstan - 2,500 tons - 0.6 percent and others.

"The increase in gasoline and diesel fuel imports is due to many different factors, the most important of which is that the economy is recovering faster than expected this year," the union said in a statement.
