Islamic Development Bank (IDB) can assist Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia to increase the trade turnover, co-chairman of Kazakh-Saudi Business Council Abdurahman Zamil during a business forum in Astana on May 19.
"Formerly, all attempts to increase the trade turnover between our countries were not successful, despite the desire of both countries. Both sides faced a major problem - transportation costs, as well as governments of both countries tried to find a solution to the problem in the private sector," said Zamil.
Co-chairman made a proposal to the governments of both countries to appeal to the Islamic Development Bank for assistance in resolving this problem.
"I offer the governments of both countries appeal to the IDB for assistance in creating a transport company, which would provide services not only to Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia, but all the Islamic countries of Central Asia and the Persian Gulf. Moreover, the Islamic Bank has experience in this regard," he said.
In addition, according to Zamil, tourism must be developed to expand trade.
