PM: Turkey, Azerbaijan and Ukraine remain Georgia's main trade partners

As of the last six months, Georgia's import increased by 36 percent and export - 44 percent compared to the same period of last year, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri said at a cabinet meeting.

He said that Georgia's foreign trade turnover for the first time exceeded $6 billion.

He added that Georgia's main trade partners are Turkey, Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kazakhstan are the export markets. Cars, ferroalloys, gold and metal are mainly exported.

He also touched on inflation and stressed that last period it was a problem for the private sector. Gilauri said that at this stage, the inflation rate was reduced up to 8.5-9 percent. He assumes that the downward trend in inflation will continue next month.
