The infrastructure in Chabahar is ready for passenger ships and it is necessary to launch passenger shipping lines between ports of Iran, Oman and Pakistan, said the Deputy of Port and Economic Affairs of the General Directorate of Ports and Maritime Affairs in Sistan and Baluchestan.
"There is a little distance between Chabahar and Oman via sea, so with launching shipping line between Chabahar Port and ports of Oman, the passenger transportation will resume," Hossein Shahdadi said, Trend reports siting Fars News Agency.
"In maritime tourism, Oman is a destination of many tours, while Iran has its own tourist attractions. Thus, tour operators can run joint tours and attract regional and international tourists," he added. "Cooperation between all organizations s needed to facilitate the process and support the private sector."
"The cooperation of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization and private sector including foreign and local tour operators will initiate conjoint maritime tours, while Foreign Ministry can facilitate visa fee procedures for passengers," he said.
"In addition, setting passenger shipping lines between ports of Iran and and Pakistan is also necessary," he noted.
