Major Kazakh companies look to launch flights to Saudi Arabia

Two major air carriers of Kazakhstan are looking into launching direct flights from Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia and back, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

Air Astana company is planning on implementing flights on the routes Almaty – Medina and Almaty – Jeddah two times a week each.

The company has already submitted documents in order to obtain permission for flights implementation. The company is ready to launch flights before the end of 2019, once the documents are accepted.

Second Kazakh company interested in launching flights to Saudi Arabia is SCAT company. The company is planning on launching flights on similar routes starting from December 2019 using Boeing-757. The certification procedure of the company is underway in Kazakh Civil Aviation Committee.

Earlier this year, President of Kazakhstan Kassym Jomart Tokayev has ordered to increase a number of international flights implemented from Nur-Sultan. Within the framework of the order, the government of Kazakhstan is looking into cooperating with foreign air companies.
