Kazakhstan ready to establish co-op with Germany on ecological issues

Kazakhstan is ready to establish cooperation with Germany on issues of ecology and natural resources, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar said, Trend reports citing the press service of the Government of Kazakhstan.

Sklyar made the remark during a meeting with the leaders of German companies.

The topic of the meeting was bilateral economic projects in the field of environmental protection and water resources.

The German side was represented by Oliver Hermes, Chairman of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, and Berger Miguel, State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.

In the course of the meeting, Sklyar noted successful cooperation in the implementation of joint projects in the fields of industrial production, mechanical engineering, energy, renewable energy sources, etc., and also expressed the readiness of the Kazakh side to establish cooperation on environmental and natural resources.

German companies were invited to cooperate in such sectors as combating climate change, waste utilization, combating the ecological disaster associated with the draining of the Aral Sea, as well as supply of drinking water.

At the end of the meeting, a discussion took place, during which the participants discussed measures to implement these issues.
