In Georgia, the public organization the 'National Assembly' called on the population to support the presidential candidacy of the former parliamentary speaker Nino Burjanadze.
The candidacy of the leader of the 'Democratic Movement - United Georgia' Nino Burjanadze was anounced at a press conference by the chairman of the 'People's Assembly', five-time world chess champion Nona Gaprindashvili.
"We believe Burjanadze is the best presidential candidate, she has extensive experience in politics at the highest levels and has the support of the population," Gaprindashvili said.
The NGO 'People's Assembly' believes that Burjanadze will be "a worthy President of Georgia."
It should be noted that Burjanadze twice was Acting President of Georgia during her political career.
Current presidential candidates are the ruling 'Georgian Dream' coalition's representative Giorgi Margvelashvili, Labour Party's candidate Shalva Natelashvili and an NGO candidate Professor Nstan Kirtadze.
The Presidential elections in Georgia will be held in the second half of 2013.
