Murder of two Azerbaijani businessmen in Moscow is order: Russian Investigation Committee at Prosecutor's Office (UPDATE 1)

The investigation team launched into the murder of two Azerbaijani businessmen in Moscow examines order as the major option, RIA Novosti quoted Russian Investigation Committee at Prosecutor's Office press service as saying.

"The investigation team examines order as a major option for the incident in connection with business of the deceased," the press service said.

Two unknown men fired at BMW sedan with Russian citizen Mammadaga Baba oglu Huseynov and Azerbaijani citizen Gasham Madat oglu Verdiyev on board in front of "Botik Petra" café on Ismayilovski highway at 20:40 on May 13. The businessmen died at the scene of incident immediately after the fire.

RIA-Novosti quoted a source in law-enforcement agencies as saying that the murdered Azerbaijani citizens were wanted on international level for murder and other serious crimes. Investigators suppose that re-distribution of sphere of influence in large markets of the capital city between criminal groups can be behind the murder.

"As many as 22 gun and 6 pistol fires were shot at a car with businessmen," the press service said.

A suit has been filed on article 105 (killing two and more people) and 222 (illegal possession of arms) which means imprisonment of 20 and 8 years respectively.

An investigation team has been launched on the case.

"All necessary measures are being taken to identify murders," the press service said.
