SOCAR started operating its sixth gas station in the Azerbaijani capital on Monday. The new filling station is located on Zikh highway, with Rovnag Abdullayev, the head of the company, attending the opening ceremony.
In total, the company plans to open 26-30 filling stations in Azerbaijan. During January-November this year the demand for lubricants increased by 4 percent in the Azerbaijani domestic market as compared to 2009.
According to the State Statistics Committee, over 3.6 million tons of oil was delivered to the domestic market of Azerbaijan in January-November, which was 3.8 percent more than in January-November last year.
More than 961,700 tons of oil products fell to motor petrol, which had been the leading product in terms of sales, after being sold 6.3 percent more than in January-November 2009. The wholesale cost of one ton of A-92 petrol (including delivery and VAT) is 670 manat while A-95 costs 736 manat in the domestic market of Azerbaijan.
