Nearly 2.5 million square meters of area de-mined in May in Azerbaijan

About 2,348,225 square meters of area was de-mined in Azerbaijan in May.

About 20,601 mines and unexploded ordinances (UXO) were detected, Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) press service said.

As many as 425 specialists and an assistance team of 115 people, five mechanical mine-sweep machines and 30 mine detection dogs were involved in mine sweep.

Nearly 102, 880,063 square meters of area have been de-mined thus far. About 446,528 mines and UXO have been cleared. Mine sweep operations have been conducted in Terter, Agdam, Fuzuli, Tovuz, Agjabadi, Agstafa and Samukh regions.
