Russian Troops Attempt to Enter Sachkhere

Georgia, Tbilisi, 20 August/ Trend , corr N. Kirtskhalia/ The Russian troops are still at the entrance to the city of Sachkhere in the west of Georgia. The troops have been located here since 19 August noon and they attempt to enter the city.

The local patrol police and population prevent them to do so. The people even staged a demonstration against the Russian aggression in Sachkhere.

According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the Russian troops plan to destroy the military ground in Sachkhere for training of riflemen built by France. Riflemen from for many European countries have been trained here.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry demanded the international community to respond to the actions of Russia who destroys the military infrastructure of the country.

A total of 22 Georgian policemen protecting the civilian facilities have not been released yet.
