Georgia, Tbilisi, 27 November / Trend , corr. N.Kirtskhalia / The Movement for unification of Georgia party of the former Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Okruashvili, has applied to the Ministry of Justice with a requirement not to register the similar named new political party of the ex-Speaker Nino Burjanadze- "Democratic movement - united Georgia".The statement was made on 27 November.
"New political party under the name of "Democratic movement - united Georgia" was founded on 23 November. It is clearly evident that the name of the new political party is similar to the name of our political party", is said in the statement.
In accordance with the 14th Article of the part of the law 1 "On political parties", the name of party must not coincide with the name of the already registered or liquidated party.
"We turn ourselves to the Ministry of Justice so that to the political "Democratic movement - united Georgia" party would be refused in the registration under this name", is said in the statement.

Burjanadze is not intended to change the name of party. "The names of our and
the party of Irakli Okruashvili do not coincide", is stated in the press
service of Burjanadze.
Burjanadze will extend reciprocal statement lately.
