Murder of deputy chairman of the Ingushetia Supreme Court can be due to investigation into the so-called "case of twenties" which includes 12 individuals charged with armed attack on Ingushetia in summer 2004 within Shamil Basayev's gang, RIA Novosti quoted republic's President Yunusbek Yevkurov as saying.
Gazgireyeva was murdered at early morning today. According to the Ingushetia Interior Ministry, unknown men fired at the Gazel car she was in. Six people more including one-year-old baby also received wounds.
"This murder may be linked with the investigation into the "case of twenties." She was subject to threats earlier," the president said.
Yevrukov said heads of the law enforcement agencies is investigating the murder.
"I think we will find the guilty soon," the president added.
On the night of June 22, 2004, largest squad of bandits led by Shamil Basayev attacked Nazrani ROVD, prison armories of Interior troops, Trinity military unit and stationary positions. As a result, bandit raid killed 78 people, including five prosecutors, 35 police officers, 114 people received various degrees of wounds.
