Iranian people trusts to authorities absolutely: Supreme Leader

Participation of 85 percent of the population of Iran in the presidential elections showed that the people trust to the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said during Friday prayer. Khamenei's statement was broadcasted by IRINN channel.

However, Western media released information that the elections were rigged. There was a democratic and free competition among the presidential candidates. Each of the four candidates for presidency is an active member of the Islamic Revolution. This turnout shows that the elections were free. Perhaps, the people gave their votes to any candidate for president, but, above all, they gave their votes to the Islamic revolution, Khamenei said.

The Supreme Leader added that the collision was not clashes between supporters and opponents of the revolution.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won the presidential elections, which was organized by the Interior Ministry and control of the Supervisory Board of Iran, gaining 63.6 percent of votes. The remaining three candidates said that the elections were accompanied by massive falsifications.
