The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry warns citizens against travels to Tajikistan in connection with the situation in this country.
General situation with security of citizens in Tajikistan remains stabile, but still trips to areas bordering with Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are very dangerous, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said on Aug.5.
There are sections not cleared of mines in these areas.
In addition, severe landslides occur in the Rasht Valley and occasionally armed conflicts took place between drug traffickers and border guards on the border with Afghanistan, the ministry said.
The ministry calls the Azerbaijani citizens to be careful when traveling in this country and to appeal the Azerbaijani Embassy in Dushanbe for assistance if needed.
