SHUSHA, Azerbaijan, June 15. Inter-parliamentary and political ties of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) are important for our unity, Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party of Türkiye on Foreign Relations and member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Zafer Sırakaya said, Trend reports.
He made the remark at the panel session "Unity of common values and modernity: party diplomacy as a new dialogue platform" within the framework of the international conference "Organization of Turkic States: towards new strategic goals in the context of geopolitical realities and global cataclysms" held in Shusha on June 15.
Furthermore, mentioning that Azerbaijan celebrates its 106th anniversary of independence this year, Zafer Sırakaya congratulated the brotherly country on its brilliant victories and successes.
He emphasized the importance of further strengthening the Turkic world against the background of geopolitical realities and global cataclysms.
Stating that relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan cover a wide spectrum, Sırakaya talked of the existing conflicts in the world and noted that these conflicts harm humanity.
Labeling the current century as the Turkic century, Zafer Sırakaya added that it is the first time in history that the OTS has united the Turkic states so closely. He expressed hope that the union and brotherhood of Turkic states would be further strengthened in the future.
To note, the international conference "Organization of Turkic States: towards new strategic goals in the context of geopolitical realities and global cataclysms" is being held in Shusha under the organization of the New Azerbaijan Party. The conference is attended by up to 300 guests, including leaders of the ruling parties of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and observers.
Three plenary sessions will be organized within the framework of the international conference: "Organization of Turkic States: Regional contribution to global security," "Unity of modernity and common values: Party diplomacy as a new platform for dialogue," and "Turkic World 2040: a conceptual view of the future".
